We are pleased to have you join us for a photo shoot. This purpose of
this page is to provide you with some tips in preparing for your shoot and making it a success!
Make sure to bring a variety of tops with different necklines, hats, scarves,
ribbons, hairbows, headbands, chokers, earrings, broaches or anything else you come across! Consider colors that you know
are flattering on your child. If shooting black and white, look for items with contrast and texture. A tip for children without
pierced ears: bring double stick tape and pearls, rhinestones, pom pom balls, buttons, etc. We can afix these to the earlobes
as earrings. Coordinate your looks by grouping items that match all together in ziploc bags. Bring items ironed or steamed.
Finally, if you have an accessory you're not sure how to use, bring it! We may be able to help you coordinate a look with
it. Remember, you can't bring too much!
I recommend the use of hair extensions if a fall is not being used. Most
childrens natural hair is not thick enough to maintain pageant hairstyles. Please bring your child with these already applied.
Please bring falls already rolled. Also feel free to bring additional hair pieces set on rollers separately. The extra pieces
are great for filling in, adding curls, and giving that perfect final touch to your childs look!
When your child arrives for her scheduled appointment please bring her
with her hair set in hot rollers. Make sure to use a setting spray (Redken Hot Sets, Physique Spiral Spray) when rolling the
hair. It is best to roll the hair at least 1 hour before the appointment time. The object is for the rollers to completely
cool before being removed. Use as many rollers as possible, and roll the hair under.
Please make certain your childs face is clean and free of any makeup or
debris. It is even a good idea to moisturize your childs face and apply lip balm to the lips the night before.
I provide all makeup and hairspray for styling. However, if your child
is extra sensitive or requires the use of a particular makeup, I ask that you provide that item. For example, I have a couple
of clients who must use a particular eyeliner or mascara because their eyes are sensitive. It is up to them to bring their
own. I use makeup products such as Merle Norman, Mary Kay, Loreal, Cover Girl, etc.
Plan your schedule for the day. A shoot takes about 1½ hours for 2 looks.
Make sure your child has had sufficient rest and has eaten. This may sound silly to have to mention, but when children are
tired or hungry they are not going to be captured at their best. If bringing snacks, choose those which are bite-sized and
bring drinks with straws.
We look forward to providing this service for you and hope the information
provided here is helpful in your planning. See you soon!
